Pre-Marital Workshop
At Exilic, we encourage couples who are thinking about getting married to participate in pre-engagement/pre-marital counseling.* Most churches just provide pre-marital counseling, but at Exilic, we suggest pre-engagement counseling for couples who plan on getting engaged in the next 3-6 months. We believe it is more beneficial to go through counseling before engagement rather than after.
Counseling is now a 1-day workshop format held three times a year (January, May, and September) in small groups and is required if an Exilic pastor is officiating your wedding ceremony. After attending the workshop, a private counseling session with one of our pastors is available upon request.
Wedding Officiant
To request an Exilic pastor to officiate your wedding, please make sure you meet the requirements:
1. Attend the pre-engagement/pre-marital workshop
2. You or your fiancé must be an official member of Exilic Church.*
The officiating pastor will meet with the couple for ceremony planning sessions in addition to the wedding rehearsal prior to the wedding date. Suggested honorarium: at least $500 which does not include any additional expenses that may arise during the counseling and planning sessions, rehearsal, and ceremony. The couple should be prepared to cover any and all travel and accommodations (flight, hotel, rental car, parking fees, etc.) for the officiant.
